I know as a longtime user we're all used to seeing scammers, liars, and people out to screw you over for your hard work with fake claims and faker promises of payment, but this one takes the cake.

Yep, you read right. They want you to pay them $20 USD for well, the awesome maybe chance of possibly being published by a company that actually doesn't exist.

I saw the ad for this "contest" on a few job posting sites, even though it's clearly not a job and doubtfully a legitimate contest either. When I called Jacob on this and asked for proof of his intentions, his companies publishing history, anything - he publicly ridiculed me, deleted most of my comments, and refused to offer up even the slightest of proof that anything he's said is true. Internet "genius" that I am though, I managed to grab screenshots of most of the comments he deleted, just for posterity. LINK.

DeviantArtists, and artists in general, beware of the false promises of DOE Productions, "Tim Tate" and Jacob Cook. Trust me, you'll thank me later for it.

UPDATED: So I reported the DOE Prod website and contest to Paypal for their fraudulent lottery contest, and apparently Paypal took action

Aside from the weird threats involved, I'm struck by the obvious question - Why would Blackeraser, who is now saying he has nothing to do with DOE Productions and he's just promoting it for his "father", know anything about the Paypal action? Wouldn't that be private information between Paypal and Tim Tate, or Jacob Cook? Blackeraser has stated he's just a kid, and I should contact his father, Tim Tate or Jacob Cook myself - yet why haven't they contacted me? Why weren't they able to refute the claims I made in the Paypal complaint and prove they were who they said they were?

Seems pretty obvious at this point, yeah?

UPDATE #2: And now he's saying I've threatened to... sue him, so he is... um, going to sue me back? Um what? When did that happen?

This whole thing has become sad and pathetic. I'm not fully sure what else to make of it. He's making up more lies to try and convince his DA friends that I'm the jerk, and I've got to field questions from all of them who seem unable or unwilling to read what's already been said. Insane.
